Profile

For more than 85 years, the Rhode Island Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (RIAGC) has served as the voice of the state’s commercial building industry. Founded in 1923, just five years after the national organization was formed, the RIAGC is one of a nationwide network of chapters charted by the Associated General Contractors of America, Inc. The membership is composed of general contractor and construction management firms as well as construction industry-related associate members such as subcontractors, architecture firms, engineering companies, banks, insurance companies, law firms and equipment manufacturers. Today, the RIAGCís full-time staff devotes its efforts to education, safety, labor relations, government relations, workforce and market development, and issues of interest to the commercial construction industry and the people of Rhode Island. The chapter and national association offer a variety of professional development and training programs as well as representation for its members and associate members on construction industry issues.
